University of Leicester appoints Chief Marketing and Engagement Officer

At UEA Angelina oversees branding, marketing, communications, media relations, crisis communications, reputation management, global and UK recruitment, corporate events and admissions, leading a team of over 200 and providing strategic leadership, vision and expertise to enable UEA to deliver its objectives.

Angelina brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, with a strong background in marketing and communications, working for many years as a consultant in the private sector for FTSE 100 companies before moving into Higher Education. First at the University of Southampton where Angelina headed up strategic marketing, and for the last nine years in her director role at UEA. Angelina is also Vice-Chair of the Universities Marketing Forum and Chairperson of Norwich Rebels Touch Rugby team where she champions diversity and inclusion in the sport.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Professional Services, Kerry Law said: “I am delighted to welcome Angelina to the University. Angelina brings significant higher education experience and will be a key player in driving and delivering our marketing, recruitment and external engagement ambition here at Leicester. I very much look forward to working with her.”

It is a great privilege to be joining Leicester at such an exciting time with its new strategy taking it into its second century. I am thrilled to be taking on the leadership of the incredibly talented External Relations Division as we continue on our journey to be a truly global university.”

Karry Tymieniecka will join the university as the new Executive Director of Finance, with effect from 17 March 2025.
Karry comes to Roehampton from The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where she joined in 2013 and has served as Interim Chief Financial Officer since January 2024. Prior to her current role, she was Director of Operational Finance. At the NHS Trust, she works closely with the CEO and Executive Team to drive the successful financial sustainability of the Trust and to develop and deliver the Trust’s Strategic Plans. Karry leads the Finance and Procurement service, providing an effective financial operational and management framework for their £600m budget, and optimisation of both NHS and commercial income opportunities.
