Widely recognised as the ‘Oscars of higher education’, the THE Awards attract hundreds of entries each year from all corners of the UK and Ireland, that exemplify the talent, innovation and commitment of individuals and teams across all aspects of university life.
In fact, 2024 is not just any year for the THE Awards – we are celebrating 20 years of honouring the very best in higher education. As is now tradition, the ceremony will serve as the celebratory finale to THE Campus Live UK&IE, a brilliant event in itself.

The university is pleased to announce two new members of the senior leadership team following a national and extensive search campaign led by Executive Search Specialists Dixon Walter.
Today, the university is delighted to announce that Claire Aindow, who is currently Head of Academic Partnerships at Ravensbourne University in London, will join the University of Cumbria as Pro Vice Chancellor (Growth and Development) on 7 October 2024 and Zulf Ali will take up the role of Pro Vice Chancellor (Research and Knowledge Exchange) in early December.
