The University of Salford’s forward-thinking approach has powered progress for 125 years. Today, our university community encompasses over 26,000 students, 2,800 staff and 200,000 alumni from all around the world. Our unstoppable institution is bolstered by countless industry initiatives and innovative research programmes, building a thriving education community at the heart of a powerful and connected region. Our mission to enrich lives is built on four areas of focus: building prosperity and equity; enabling healthier living; improving the environment and sustainability; and developing cutting edge creative and innovative practice.
This is a unique moment in the history of Salford. Despite sector headwinds we are financially strong and continue to grow and invest in our people, digital and physical resources. There is exciting work to be done as we build on our academic strengths in keeping with our heritage as a 1960s Robbins era university and develop a contemporary education and research offer which is multi-disciplinary and collaborative for the benefit of all our communities.
As our new Pro Vice Chancellor and member of the University’s Leadership Team, you will lead our ambitious education plan to streamline our curriculum and make our education more interactive and student-centred as we deliver a new institutional strategy through to 2030 aimed at innovating to enrich lives. You will provide expert academic leadership, driving innovation and change whilst also ensuring that we maintain and develop our reputation for leading edge technology-enhanced learning. Student voices are integral to university decision making.
To succeed you will be an experienced, innovative and inspirational leader with a genuine passion for delivering excellence in learning and teaching, enhancing the student experience, and increasing the social and economic impact of universities. Working as part of a senior leadership team at University and School/ Faculty level, you will have driven change and delivered tangible outcomes and impact in areas relevant to the student education and experience portfolio. You will have a strategic awareness of developments and innovations in the sector and an ability to operate credibly in a pan-institutional capacity within a progressive academic environment. Significantly, you will demonstrate a commitment and alignment to the mission, vision and values of the University of Salford.
With a new strategic plan on the horizon and a reinvigorated sense of purpose, this is a great time to join the University and a fantastic opportunity to shape our learning, teaching and student experience for generations to come.
